
Deborah Brancato joined the Hudson River Team in November 2008 to work on Riverkeeper’s legal challenge to the license renewal of the Indian Point nuclear power plant. During the fall of 2006 and spring of 2007, she was a legal intern in the Pace Environmental Litigation Clinic, where, under the supervision of co-directors Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Daniel Estrin, she worked on Riverkeeper’s Clean Water Act and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act case against ExxonMobil Corp. stemming from the Greenpoint oil plume. She received her B.A. from Fairfield University and her J.D., and Environmental Law Certificate, magna cum laude, from Pace University School of Law, where she was an Academic Merit Scholar, an Articles Editor of the Pace Environmental Law Review, and a Vice-Chair of the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition. Prior to joining Riverkeeper, she was an associate at a small civil litigation firm in White Plains.
