
Deborah Brancato joined Riverkeeper in November 2008 as a staff attorney in the Hudson River Program, and works on Riverkeeper’s ongoing legal challenges to the operation and license renewal of the Indian Point nuclear power plant, and related policy issues. Ms. Brancato received her B.A. from Fairfield University, summa cum laude, where she was Phi Beta Kappa, and her J.D., and Environmental Law Certificate, magna cum laude, from Pace University School of Law, where she was an Academic Merit Scholar, an Articles Editor of the Pace Environmental Law Review, and a Vice-Chair of the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition. During law school, she interned with the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C., the non-profit environmental advocacy organization Connecticut Fund for the Environment, and the Pace Environmental Litigation Clinic. She is also a 2009 graduate of the New York City Environmental Law Leadership Institute (NYCELLI). Prior to joining Riverkeeper, she was an associate attorney at a civil litigation law firm in White Plains.
