On March 26, 2007 Riverkeeper submitted formal comments to the NRC regarding the agency's proposed changes to federal requirements for security at nuclear power plants. In these comments, Riverkeeper criticizes the NRC for failing to fully implement the security changes required by the Energy Policy Act of 2005, including a requirement to fully assess the threat of air-based and water-based attacks, and to conduct emergency exercises based on a terrorist attack.
