Here are some steps for becoming better informed on watershed issues: - Visit the EPA's Watershed Site.
- Surf the EPA's Watershed Information Network for information and services for protecting and restoring water resources.
- Go on a wetlands walk, estuary walk, lake walk, stream walk, or river walk and make observations and assessments of waterbody condition.
- Learn how land use and development decisions affect your water resources and how watershed planning and the watershed approach can help.
- Learn about alternatives to current development patterns such as low-impact development and smart growth.
Urge your Town or Village to increase wetland buffer protections to at least 150-feet. See the Wetland Buffer Letter under "Related Info." to the right for more information.
