Hudson’s Landing (Stuyvesant)

Residents of Stuyvesant alerted us to a significant expansion proposed for a mobile home park near the Hudson River. Environmentally sensitive lands would likely be impacted if the current 50 lot park expands to accommodate the requested 180 lots and attendant homes. The soils are inappropriate for the planned septic treatment. Riverkeeper intervened in what appeared to be a quiet and rapid permitting process that failed to follow town law requiring a hearing on the site plan. As a result, the Town has agreed to review the project according to SEQRA requirements as a project that may have significant environmental impacts. Riverkeeper will participate in the SEQRA review.
