Citizens concerned about the state of the Wallkill River will take part in the first of a planned monthly series of “boat brigades” to observe conditions and report on any problems identified.

The boat brigade is organized by Brenda Bowers. For more information, contact her at [email protected].

Meet at Popp Memorial Park, Route 208 in Wallkill, NY, at 9 a.m. The park is in the Wallkill hamlet, in the Ulster County town of Shawangunk (not the Town of Wallkill, in Orange County.)

Bring your own kayak or canoe.

Riverkeeper is supporting the effort by providing stream walk resources and other tips to help the effort be productive.
