Taste the first-of-its-kind collaboration beer, a harvest ale brewed to benefit Riverkeeper and raise awareness about the need for protecting clean water, by Peekskill Brewery and Captain Lawrence Brewing Co.

The harvest ale will be brewed at Peekskill Brewery, and will be available to the public at the third-annual Hudson Hop and Harvest festival October 4, from 2-9 p.m. at Peekskill Riverfront Green Park. The festival features craft beer, live music, farm-to-table food, and a farmers market. Admission is free.

We need your help to name this beer! Enter your name here by Sept. 8.

Riverkeeper staff will announce finalists the week of September 8, and the winner will be selected through social media voting using the #hudsonbeer hashtag. The winning name will be announced at a tasting event Sept. 24 at Peekskill Brewery, 47-53 South Water Street on the Riverfront in Peekskill. Captain Lawrence will also host a tasting event at its tasting room at on Friday, Sept. 26.

The winner of the naming contest will receive an exclusive tour of each brewery and a Riverkeeper hat.

Riverkeeper is the official beneficiary of the Hudson Hop and Harvest Festival. Proceeds from the sale of the harvest ale will benefit Riverkeeper’s work to protect the Hudson River and the drinking water supply for 9 million New Yorkers.

Riverkeeper needs volunteers to help run the compost station at the Hop and Harvest festival. Volunteers will get a T-shirt, food and beverages, and other perks. Sign up to volunteer here.
