Join Riverkeeper at the Hudson Valley Reggae Festival on Saturday, September 18th. The site of this day long music festival will be held on 250 acres in the beautiful Catskill Mountains at Honor’s Haven Resort and Spa in Ellenville, NY. Riverkeeper’s own Executive Director, Paul Gallay, will be speaking at the event on the topic of gas drilling in NY’s watershed. The mission of this event is to promote environmental responsibility through music, hands-on environmental educational programs and grassroots community actions.
The Hudson Valley Reggae Festival features an eclectic assortment of musical talent from a variety of different cultures including Jamaica’s No. 1 Dub poet, Mutabaruka; New England’s premier Reggae band, Soul Shot; Haiti’s own popular performer, Freedom; Cuban artist David Sandoval’s band Delixilo; Bonga and the Vodou Drums of Haiti; International Reggae artist Living Truth; One World Tribe; musical ensemble; Kofi Donkor and Sankofa; master drummer and dancers; Singer/songwriter Randy Niles; Hakum; speakin’ to the realities of the world and Gigi and The Lend Me a Hand Band; 2008 Finalists Children’s Music Web Awards for Best Album and Best Song.
