Walkway To Paris: A Rally for Climate Action

This event will send a strong message to delegates attending the United Nations Climate Change Conference approaching in Paris about the importance of drastically reducing fossil fuel emissions. Climate-related art & music, speakers and food. Hosted by New Paltz Climate Action Coalition, Riverkeeper & local environmental groups.

We’ve chosen the Walkway over the Hudson because it is both a regional and global icon and it physically and symbolically unites the two sides of the Hudson. Our goal is to call upon elected officials to not just commit to but actually carry out measures that will reverse climate change. We intend to recruit students and staff from all the colleges in the region to raise consciousness about this dire situation.
