On Air - 100.1 FM

Water Quality Program Manager Dan Shapley will join Jimmy Buff for an hour of music and conversation about Riverkeeper’s work in the tributaries of the Hudson River on Monday, June 1.

Tune in to 100.1 FM to hear the interview, or listen live at player.radio.com/listen/station/radio-woodstock-wdst .

The interview will include information about the new citizen effort to protect and restore the Wallkill River, including the first meeting of a new citizens group June 4 in New Paltz and a citizen-led “boat brigade” to observe conditions on the Wallkill June 6.

Other topics will include the results of ongoing community science monitoring of several tributaries in the WDST listening area, including the Wallkill River, and the Rondout, Esopus, Catskill and Quassaick creeks. Riverkeeper’s partners measure contamination that indicates how well our creeks are meeting federal standards for safe recreation, and Riverkeeper works collaboratively with local advocates and governments, and state agencies to prioritize projects to reduce contamination and achieve water safe for swimming and other recreation.
