Karl Coplan
Karl Coplan is Co-Director of the Pace University School of Law Environmental Litigation Clinic and a professor of environmental litigation at Pace. The Pace Clinic provides much of RiverkeeperŐs legal expertise, contributing an annual equivalent of $1 million in legal work through the efforts of its students working as attorneys to bring lawsuits against polluters. Through the clinic and the classroom, Mr. Coplan is involved with teaching the lawyers of the future how to better advocate for the environment. From 1986 to 1994 he was a lawyer at Berle Kass & Case in New York City, where he gained expertise in environmental law. He has published in several law reviews on such topics as environmental racism, clean water and community rights, and spoken all over the United States about these issues. Mr. Coplan graduated from Middlebury College in 1980 and from Columbia University School of Law in 1984. |
