In order to run our programs and protect the Hudson River, Riverkeeper must raise every dollar it spends. Riverkeeper's current annual budget is $3.5 million. Dedicated individuals like you provide the majority of Riverkeeper's funding. They know how much it costs to mount legal suits against polluters, educate the public and protect the drinking water supply of more than 9 million people.

Our funders come in all sizes and income brackets. We have supporters who enthusiastically make contributions of thousands of dollars, but the vast majority of donors are people who contribute 10, 25, 100 or 500 dollars because that is what they can afford and because they know how important Riverkeeper's work is to the communities we serve. We have one supporter who for the last ten years has been donating a dollar for each car his shop services. This has amounted to thousands of dollars over time. Another supporter gives a percentage of each commission she earns on real estate sales. Others give in more traditional ways by making a monthly pledge or an annual gift, by coming to one of our fund-raising events, or even by making a bequest.

Together these supporters represent thousands of individuals finding hundreds of ways to support Riverkeeper and ensure that we continue to protect America's River and the communities that surrounds it.
