Join our Watchdog or Construction Watch programs and oversee the health of your local tributary. Educate others about the Hudson River Valley's unique ecosystem and the challenges it faces. Donate some of your time and talent to assist in the daily actions it takes to win against polluters. Or help with a fundraising and publicity event. Riverkeeper has a volunteer position for you as long as you have the passion. Please read on to learn about the types of volunteer experiences we offer…
19th Annual Shad Fest Volunteers
Riverkeeper is currently seeking Event Planning and Event Weekend Volunteers to help with the coordination of our 19th Annual Shad Festival. The event will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at the historic Boscobel Mansion in Garrison, NY, from 12-5 pm. Overlooking Constitution Marsh and the Hudson River, the festival marks the late spring, or lilac run, of the American Shad and is well-known as the best party in the Hudson Valley. Volunteers on the Shadfest volunteer team will able to participate in the planning of an all-inclusive all-day family festival designed to give Hudson Valley residents the chance to spend the day celebrating and learning about our river. Volunteer Opportunities include: Mailings, Ticket Sales, Arts & Crafts, Food and Beverage, Vendor Coordination (i.e. Animal Attractions and Children’s Activities), Entertainment Logistics, Merchandise, Publicity, and Advertising. If you are interested in joining Riverkeeper’s volunteer team for this year’s event, please contact Heartie Look at hlook@riverkeeper.org. |
