Enterococcus (“Entero”) is a fecal indicating bacterium that lives in the intestines of humans and other warm-blooded animals. It is the EPA preferred indicator for sewage contamination.

About this location:

The Clausland Arm is the main stem of Sparkill Creek. This sampling site and the Blauvelt Arm trib sampling site are located side-by-side, just upstream of the confluence of these two branches of the Creek. This sampling site is located in a forested area between residences and an office building.
