Nicholas Groombridge

Vice Chair

Nicholas Groombridge is a founding partner in the law firm Groombridge, Wu, Baughman & Stone LLP, based in New York City. He has focused on intellectual property litigation matters for more than 30 years. Mr. Groombridge is a frequent speaker on developments in patent law and has taught courses on patent litigation at Columbia Law School and NYU School of Law.

Mr. Groombridge, a resident of Philipstown, NY, is passionate about Riverkeeper’s clean water mission, especially our work to close Indian Point, safeguard the Hudson from the dangers associated with crude oil shipments, and promote safe energy. He received his law degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1981 and has practiced law in New York City since 1989. He is active on several boards and professional societies, including the Federal Circuit Bar Association, of which he is a past president. For ten years he served as a member and subsequently Vice-chair of the board of Friends of UNFPA, a non-profit organization supporting the work of the United Nations Population Fund. He also serves as treasurer of the Highlands Current, a non-profit newspaper headquartered in Cold Spring, New York.
