Jen Benson

Outreach Fellow

Jen first began organizing as a student at SUNY Geneseo while working toward a degree in English and Environmental Studies. While at Geneseo, Jen coordinated Geneseo Environmental Organization, founded the Divest Geneseo campaign, and worked closely with grassroots organization Frack Free Genesee to prevent fracking in New York State. Following graduation, Jen worked at the New Jersey Public Interest Research Group Student Chapters in New Brunswick, NJ teaching college students how to run social and environmental campaigns.

In her role as Education and Outreach Coordinator at Riverkeeper, Jen manages volunteers, Riverkeeper Ambassador Program, and plans the Riverkeeper Sweep, an annual day of service for the Hudson River. She is currently an FAO Schwarz Family Foundation Fellow, and is in the second year of her Fellowship.
