Alex Gil is the founder & principal of SPACECUTTER, a boutique architecture & design studio in NYC. His professional experience is broad & includes supervising high-rise construction in New York City’s Times Square; creating contemporary residences; designing schools for the office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill; & collaborating with the architectural theoretician Lebbeus Woods. Alex is also an active member with Engineers Without Borders, where he is currently working on a sustainable clinic in the Amazon jungle.
Alex is a registered architect in the state of New York & Illinois. He graduated from the Irwin. S Chanin School of Architecture of The Cooper Union & the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. Alex & his wife reside in Williamsburg, Brooklyn & spend their leisure time in the Catskills.
