NY Senator Greg Ball (R, C- Patterson) will hold a hearing on August 23, 2011 to examine the risks and benefits of hydraulic fracturing (also known as “hydrofracking”) in New York.
According to Senator Ball, the hearing is to build awareness about hydrofracking and solicit testimony from industry experts to determine what public policies need to be created to protect the health and welfare of the public and the environment as it relates to hydrofracking.
The public is welcome, but testimony is by invitation only. President and Hudson Riverkeeper Paul Gallay will be among the experts testifying at the hearing. Gasland director Josh Fox will also be among the experts testifying.
