Sustainable Westchester, and Westchester Power are sponsoring a series on the issue of carbon taxes.

Carbon taxes are increasingly in the news, with voices across the political spectrum advancing proposals. Many economists agree that putting a price on carbon emissions is one greenhouse gas policy that would drive others. With climate policy currently in question at the federal level, several states, including New York, are considering carbon tax proposals at the state level.

A panel of thought leaders will answer questions such as:

What is the carbon tax?
How might it affect you?
What are the pros and cons?
What are the pending proposals?

The panel for the session includes:
Charles Komanoff, founder, and director, Carbon Tax Center
Mark Dunlea, President, Green Education, and Legal Fund
Gaylord Holmes, Citizen’s Climate Lobby, Westchester Chapter

Co-sponsors of this event include, the League of Women Voters of Westchester, New York League of Conservation Voters, Pace Energy and Climate Center, Eastchester Environmental Committee.
