Crystal Lake Cleanup in Newburgh

Clearwater will be working with the Quassaick Creek Watershed Alliance to remove litter and debris from the area around Crystal Lake starting at the south end of Temple Ave. This project will take place on Wednesday April 20, 2016 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM and is the third cleanup in Clearwater’s Earth Week 2016 celebrations.

Volunteers should meet at the site at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the cleanup start time to sign in and secure materials. A registration tent will be in the lot with a volunteer that is stationed there to help answer any questions you may have.

Everyone should wear sturdy shoes or boots, clothing that they can get dirty, and should bring a hat, sunscreen, a reusable water bottle and snacks. Please bring work gloves if you have them however work gloves aren’t a requirement to participate.

The Quassaick Creek Watershed Alliance (QCWA) is a coalition of individuals and entities, both public and private, whose mission is to advocate for implementation of the Quassaick Creek Watershed Management Plan. Their efforts focus on the protection and restoration of water quality and quantity, recreational values and biodiversity of the Quassaick Creek, its reservoirs and tributaries to promote the health, safety and welfare of our communities.
