Sugar Loaf, NY (OCLT): Join the Orange County Land Trust and Quassaick Creek Watershed Alliance on Saturday, April 16 from 1-4 pm for a volunteer cleanup to help restore and beautify Crystal Lake in the City of Newburgh.

Participants of the cleanup will help remove garbage and trash from sections along Crystal Lake, an 8-acre pond that was once a centerpiece of a public park. The site has been plagued by illegal dumping in recent years.

Volunteers are welcome to participate for an hour or all three. Wearing long pants and closed-toe sneakers or boots are recommended. Volunteers should bring work gloves and water. To sign-up or for more information, e-mail [email protected] or call 845-469-0951, x18

Since 1993, Orange County Land Trust has helped preserve Orange County’s important natural resources, scenic landscapes and working farmland, resulting in the protection of over 5,000 acres of land. For more information about land conservation or to make a contribution, visit www.oclt.org or call 845-469-0951.
