Riverkeeper proudly sponsors the Climate Change Conference, hosted by Federated Conservationists of Westchester County (FCWC) and Pace University Law School’s Center for Environmental Legal Studies on March 1. This event, inviting municipal officials, community leaders, and concerned citizens, offers a day of climate inspiration and action. Attendees will gain valuable tools and resources for effective climate change mitigation. The conference features experts and neighborhood advocates from Westchester County, fostering active engagement in climate conversations and equipping participants to drive impactful change in their communities.
The purpose of this conference is to advocate for the necessary and immediate changes needed to address climate change in our communities. This marks the beginning of a two-year series of conversations about what we in this County must do to ensure a green present and future – from increasing green space, monitoring the floodplain along the Hudson, providing the necessary infrastructure for electric vehicles, decarbonizing, and preserving important wildlife habitats. This conference will present overviews of major concerns, communities will be heard, and solutions and tools presented to address these concerns.
