Please come to this board meeting to show your support for the Clean Air Law, or write to the Coeymans Supervisor, Phil Crandall, to thank him and his board for their action.
History:
After considerable opposition to a proposal to ship municipal trash from Connecticut to the LaFarge/Holcim Cement Plant in Ravena, Connecticut decided to keep its trash to itself.
Following that decision, the Coeymans Town Board drafted a Clean Air Law which had its public hearing in August, followed by discussions with LaFarge/Holcim who were asking for amendments. The Board has now decided to pass the law as it was written, without any changes, and will do so at their last board meeting on 27 December, starting at 7pm.
