Participate in this free and informative seminar to learn the basics of the National Flood Insurance Program (NIFP) and its implications for our municipalities and development approvals. Participants can expect to learn common flood hazard terminology, how to utilize and access Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FRIMs), how flood insurance works and common mitigation methods used to reduce the severity of damages to structures. Future state initiatesĀ in response to climate change will be covered. For each topic, local examples will be highlighted and discussed.
