Indian Point closure meeting

When:
October 2, 2019: 6:00PM to 9:00PM
Where:
Morabito Community Center, 29 Westbrook Dr, Cortlandt, NY 10567 map

We hope you’ll attend the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s important public meeting on Indian Point’s decommissioning.

This meeting is an opportunity for the community – from concerned residents and neighbors to elected officials – to ask questions and share their concerns directly with the NRC. We want to stress to the NRC that effective oversight panels must:

  • Include non-profit groups and community members, and represent the diversity of the community;
  • Have the authority to use subpoena or similar power to get safety information from the licensee, as of right
  • Legally require the licensee to disclose unresolved safety issues and unusual events without any prompting
  • Have sufficient funding to hire their own independent experts on technical issues.

Please wear red, if possible, to the meeting to show that we need to Stop Holtec.

Here is the NRC’s agenda:

6:00-6:45 p.m. NRC staff introductions and presentation on NEIMA Section 108 (NRC Staff)
6:45-7:00 p.m. Feedback from community officials or members of the Local Community Advisory Board (if applicable)
7:00-9:00 p.m. Feedback and questions from the public (open)
