The program entitled “The State of the Rondout Creek: What’s good, what’s bad, what’s next” is free to the public.

The Rondout Creek Watershed Alliance was founded to restore the Rondout Creek and its tributaries to their prime, to act as the voice of the Creek, and to advocate for the protection and improvement of the watershed by increasing community awareness and implementing collaborative conservation efforts.

The fourth Annual Rondout Creek Watershed Alliance “Virtual” Summit will occur on Thursday, October 21 from 6:00pm – 7:30pm in partnership with Riverkeeper, and will present updates on ongoing and upcoming projects that have a multi-town or watershed scope.

Presenters include Emily Vail, Executive Director of the Hudson River Watershed: “What’s new in 2022 at the Hudson River Watershed Alliance”; Updates from members of Environmental Conservation Commissions and Conservation Advisory Committees in Ulster County; Thomas Niekrewicz, Water Resource Specialist, Hudson River Estuary Program, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation: “Estuary Programs Stream Condition Index (SCI) Tool”; Jen Epstein & Sebastian Pillitteri, Riverkeeper: “Water Quality in the Rondout Creek Watershed and Ideas for Septic System Management”; Andrew Faust, Center for BioRegional Living: “An update on Riparian efforts, Living Systems and Biodigesters in the Rondout Creek watershed”; Laura Finestone, Chair of the Rondout Creek Watershed Alliance: “An update on the RCWA activities”.
