The Wallkill River Watershed Alliance is hosting the 1st annual Wallkill River Festival on Saturday, October 7, with a rain date of Sunday, October 8. This free festival will run from 2:00-6:30 pm on the Wallkill River, at the New Paltz Gardens For Nutrition, 51 Huguenot Street.
The festival is a time for the community to come together to celebrate the river and to gain inspiration for how we can work together to restore it as an ecological and recreational resource. The festival will open at 2 pm with a blessing of the river by Turtle Clan Vincent Mann of the Ramapough Lunaape Nation. Three local bands will provide entertainment on the hour, starting with The Wild Swan Band at 3 pm, New Paltz Rock’s Ashes of the Phoenix at 4 pm, and Yard Sale at 5 pm.
