Rock the Resistance is an opportunity at the Bearsville Theatre in Woodstock to learn how you can get involved with local groups working to defend human rights, women’s rights, and the environment. The event will feature speakers, musicians, and action signup tables.
Speakers at the event will explain what is being done in our Mid-Hudson region on the different fronts: voter registration, women’s rights, the sanctuary movement and immigration, healthcare, and the environment. At the end of the presentation, attendees will exit the theater area to find tables staffed by organizers from the local groups: Planned Parenthood of the Mid-Hudson Valley, New York 19 Votes, interfaith ministers representing the region’s sanctuary movement, local environmental organizations, and the town Democratic parties. At the tables, participants can get further information about each group’s efforts, sign up to volunteer, and donate. There will be no admittance fee to the event to encourage donations to the various groups.
