Brooklyn SweepJoin local clean water advocates for a cleanup at Borough Park from 11 AM to 3 PM for the 13th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep. This is a rain or shine event.

Volunteers will meet at the Fort Hamilton Parkway subway station at 11th Ave & 62nd St. Street parking is available.

We recommend that all Sweep volunteers bring a hat, sunscreen, a full reusable water bottle, insect repellent, work gloves and hand sanitizer. All tools, including garbage grabbers and bags, will be provided.

This site is suitable for elementary-aged children with adult supervision.

Questions? Contact Riverkeeper at [email protected] or Sweep Leader Vivy at [email protected].

*IMPORTANT! To ensure the safety of volunteers, Sweep Site Leaders, professional staff, and our communities, we ask that volunteers adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Volunteers are required to pre-register for Sweep.
  • Volunteers should not participate if they have ANY signs of illness or if they have potentially been exposed to COVID-19.

Over the last 12 years, Sweep leaders have completed 1,199 service projects, bringing together thousands of volunteers from NYC to the Adirondacks to clean up 355 tons of debris, and plant or maintain 7,130 native plants. This incredible effort is made possible by the generosity of our members, sponsors, and donors. If you would like to support the continued growth of the Riverkeeper Sweep, please consider making a donation. Contributions of any amount are meaningful.
