Forum on nuclear waste storage and decommissioning Indian Point

On Sunday, May 3 from 1 – 4 p.m. Clearwater will host a FORUM ON NUCLEAR WASTE STORAGE AND DECOMMISSIONING at Stony Point Conference Center featuring Kevin Kamps of Beyond Nuclear, Gary Shaw of the Indian Point Safe Energy Coalition (IPSEC), Tim Judson of the Nuclear Information and Resource Service (NIRS), Deb Katz of Citizens Awareness Network (CAN), Jessica Azulay of Alliance for Green Energy (AGREE), and Deborah Brancato of Riverkeeper.
Information presented will be about Indian Point’s severely overcrowded fuel pools, the need for a plan to decommission the facility when it closes — and the lack of sufficient decommissioning funds to ensure it is done safely. There will also be an update on Indian Point legal matters and the status of other NY State nuclear facilities.
