Please join the Coalition Against Pilgrim Pipelines New York for an important forum on the proposed Pilgrim Pipelines that would run from Albany to Linden, NJ through Green County communities.
Panelists include:
Kate Hudson of Riverkeeper
Roger Downs of the Sierra Club
Jen Metzger of Citizens for Local Power
Iris Bloom of Protecting our Waters
Background:
The Pilgrim Pipelines would consist of two pipleines along the NYS Thruway between Albany, NY and Linden, NJ to transport volatile crude oil south and refined oil north
The pipelines will be crossing important waterways including the Catskill Watershed and Coeymans/Hannacroix Creek Complex.
Oil pipelines have been proven to be dangerous and can lear and pollute the ground, water, and air.
Catskill and surrounding townships are already serving as crude oil transport hubs with “bomb” trains and oil barges. The proposed Pilgrim Pipelines will not replace these forms of transport.
