Public Hearings on Fracking

When:
November 29, 2011: 1:00PM to 9:00PM
Where:
Loch Sheldrake, NY

In September 2011, the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) released two documents for public comment: its revised draft environmental impact statement, and draft fracking regulations, and the documents which would guide fracking in New York State.

DEC will hold four public hearings on these two documents. Each public hearing will have an afternoon and an evening session from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, respectively. You can speak your mind, and/or submit written comments at these hearings.

The hearings will be held:

  • Nov. 16 at the Dansville Middle School Auditorium, 31 Clara Barton Street, Dansville, NY
  • Nov. 17 at The Forum Theatre, 236 Washington Street, Binghamton, NY
  • Nov. 29 at the Sullivan County Community College, Seelig Theatre, 112 College Road, Loch Sheldrake, NY
  • Nov. 30 at Tribeca Performing Arts Center, 199 Chambers Street, NYC, NY

Riverkeeper will come out in full force at the November 30 hearing in NYC. Stand with us! Check back for more details on the November 30 hearing in the coming weeks.
