Join Riverkeeper as we celebrate our 50th Anniversary by joining us for a River Talk at the Beacon Historical Society for a conversation about the history of the Hudson River and Beacon waterfront. Riverkeeper Water Quality Manager will be joined by long-time Hudson River advocate, John Mylod.

John Mylod is one of the last commercial fishermen on the Hudson River and the former executive director of the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater. He is also the president of Springside Landscape Restoration, a non-profit organization which owns and opens to the public every day, the Springside National Historic Landmark in Academy St. in Poughkeepsie, NY.

A lifelong Hudson Valley resident, Dan Shapley joined Riverkeeper as Membership and Events Manager in October 2011, and started as Water Quality Program Manager in July 2014. As Water Quality Program Manager, Dan focuses on communications and advocacy related to Riverkeeper’s water quality testing data, and on making the Hudson River safe for swimming.
