Join Riverkeeper and PaddleHead Boards for a sunset paddle, and learn about the environmental issues facing the river with Riverkeeper Membership & Events Manager Dan Shapley while enjoying the gorgeous scenery of the upper Hudson Valley.

The paddlers will meet Capt. John Lipscomb, piloting the patrol boat R. Ian Fletcher, for a conversation on the water.

The tour departs at 5:30 p.m. from PaddleHead Boards’ waterfront shop in Athens. Sunset is at 7:45 p.m.

After the paddle, the group will meet up at Crossroads Brewing Co. to keep the conversation going. Each participants will get a coupon for one free beverage. (The kitchen closes at 9 p.m., so there’s time for dinner, too!)

The tour is limited to 20 guests. Paddlers can either bring their own kayak or paddleboard or rent one from PaddleHead Boards. The cost is $30 with rental, or $20 if you bring your own craft. Half of the proceeds are a tax-deductible membership donation to Riverkeeper.

To register, contact Carla and Mike at PaddleHead Boards at [email protected] or 518-755-4052.
