Tree Planting along the Monhagen Brook

When:
October 24, 2015: 9:00AM to 1:00PM
Where:
Maple Hill Elementary School, 491 County Rt 78, Middletown, NY map

Volunteers are needed this Saturday to help plant trees along Monhagen Brook. Streamside plantings provide many important environmental benefits, including water filtration, erosion prevention, and providing vital nutrients to stream ecosystems. Orange County Soil and Water Conservation District is teaming up with the Hudson River Estuary Trees for Tribs program to plant 200 tress and shrubs next to Monhagen Brook this fall. Holes will be pre-dug, and trees will be small, so families with children are encouraged to come.

Lunch and snacks will be provided to all volunteers! Please dress for the weather, as the tree planting is a rain or shine event.

For more information, please call the Orange County Soil and Water Conservation District at (845) 343-1873. This event is brought to you by the Orange County Soil and Water Conservation District, the Hudson River Estuary Trees for Tribs program, and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
