Water Quality Presentation to Wallkill River Watershed Alliance

When:
April 20, 2016: 7:00PM to 8:30PM
Where:
New Paltz Village Hall, 25 Plattekill Avenue, New Paltz map

Riverkeeper will present the latest data from our community science water quality monitoring project at the next chapter meetings of the Wallkill River Watershed Alliance. We will also discuss expanded sampling plans for 2016, associated with a project funded by the Hudson River Estuary Program, to conduct a pollution source trackdown project and update the Wallkill River watershed management plan with information about fecal contamination.

As part of that project, we will also be recruiting additional community science partners to expand sampling. If you are interested in taking water quality samples on the Wallkill River or its tributaries, either attend the meeting or contact Jen Epstein at [email protected].

The Wallkill River Watershed Alliance meetings will also feature updates from the chapters on ongoing activities, including updates from the Science, Boat Brigade and Outreach working groups.

The Wallkill River Watershed Alliance’s Orange County chapter meets on the second Tuesday of the month at the Wallkill Community Center. The Ulster County chapter meets on the third Wednesday of the month at Village Hall in New Paltz.

The Alliance is recruiting new volunteers to assist with work, particularly for coordinating volunteer projects, and for outreach and policy working groups.
