Trees for Tribs Planting along the Quassaick Creek in Newburgh

When:
May 25, 2019: 10:00AM to 2:00PM
Where:
NY-32 and Mill Street, Newburgh, NY 12589 map

Join the Quassaick Creek Watershed Alliance for Trees for Tribs planting project. The group will work to expand the existing site on Mill Street by planting 120 shrubs and 12 trees along the Quassaick Creek on Town of Newburgh owned property, upstream from the Chadwick Lake reservoir, where trees were planted last year. The group will also build a fence to protect the plantings.

The DEC will provide training, all plants and materials for this project, and will pre-dig the holes. Wear appropriate clothing as it may be muddy. Bring gloves and water.

To get to the site go north on Rt. 32 to Mill Street (if you get to Ulster Co line you have gone past Mill Street). Turn left onto Mill Street and in less than a half mile you will see an open grassy area on the left, it’s before you get to the bridge across the QC. You can park along the grassy shoulder. This is a rain or shine event.
