Director of Advocacy and Engagement

Jessica Roff
Jessica Roff was born and raised in so-called Brooklyn, occupied Lenape territory. She is a climate and environmental activist, community organizer, and lawyer who joined Riverkeeper in October 2017 in the newly created Director of Advocacy and Engagement role. Jessica was previously the Programs Manager for Catskill Mountainkeeper and the Downstate Regional Organizer for New Yorkers Against Fracking, organizing in downstate New York against extreme fossil-fuel extraction and infrastructure. Previously, she organized with Occupy Sandy on hurricane relief and rebuilding work in the Rockaways.

Before returning home, Jessica worked as lawyer at the U.S. Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C., where she practiced Federal Indian law, and with the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.

Jessica is committed to working to amplify the voices of frontline communities in their fight for clean water and to working for social justice.
