Nicholas Mitch
As an
FAO Schwarz Family Foundation Fellow at Riverkeeper, Nicholas works on projects related to advocacy, engagement, and education, and plans the Riverkeeper Sweep, an annual day of service for the Hudson River, among other programs.

He grew up in Indiana before attending Bowdoin College, where he discovered a passionate interest in engaging communities to protect their water resources. In positions at other organizations including the Nature Conservancy in Maine and the Damariscotta River Association, he has worked on projects related to environmental education and coastal resiliency. On campus, he was a part of Green Bowdoin and served as a campus “Eco-Rep,” engaging students on a number of sustainability issues including an energy efficiency improvement program and food waste reduction campaign.
