The New York City Department of Environmental Protection will hold its third annual Reservoir Cleanup Day on Oct 2, 2016. Volunteers will remove debris from areas that are generally used for fishing and boating access.

The cleanups will take place at the Ashokan, Cannonsville, Pepacton and Rondout reservoirs. Each cleanup at these locations will begin at 12 p.m. and is expected to finish no later than 3 p.m. Volunteers will meet at central locations designated for each reservoir. Volunteer meeting locations are Ashokan Reservoir, the Frying Pan parking area off Route 28A; Cannonsville Reservoir, Cannonsville Bridge on Route 10; Pepacton Reservoir; the Shavertown Bridge boat launch area; and Rondout Reservoir, the universal access site on Route 55A.

To volunteer, call (800) 575-LAND or send an email to [email protected]. Pre-registration is highly encouraged. To register, go to www.Facebook.com/NYCWatershed.
