Endocrine disrupting chemicals: Insights from two scientists

On March 9, Luke Iwanowicz of U.S. Geological Survey, and Tyrone Hayes of University of California, Berkeley, gave presentations at SUNY New Paltz, co-presented by Riverkeeper and the Wallkill River Watershed Alliance.

Iwanowicz is the lead author on a recent study that found intersex fish in the Wallkill River and at other National Wildlife Refuges in the Northeastern U.S. Hayes’s research into the effects on frogs of the common herbicide atrazine has led him to be an activist as well as a scientist.

Watch the presentation here. Iwanowicz’s lecture begins at about 4:40, Hayes’s lecture at about
45:30.
