Catskill to Kingston:

It wasn’t until two days after the cold front that the northwesterly filled in. The water has a beautiful texture.

Saying hello to Patrick at the Saugerties Light on Esopus Creek – and goodbye till spring. What a treat to spend the winter in a lighthouse!

The marinas and boat clubs on Rondout Creek have hauled out their floating docks to protect them from ice. Boats are all hauled out. Another season over.

The dam at Eddyville. One of these years winter ice may knock it down and re-open much more of the Rondout for herring spawning – the way it was before. The herring could really use it.
