Leaving Catskill for Waterford this morning with the sun starting to rise behind Olana.
Quoting from “The Hudson River Water Trail Guide,” 7th edition:
“Olana is on Mt. Merino, which is made of gunflint chert, a half-billion-year old rock composed of the hardened skeletons of millions of tiny organisms called radiolarians.”
That helps me keep things in perspective.
