This past Saturday, Riverkeeper all-star Ambassador and Junior Council member, John Koblinsky, organized a cleanup of East River Park in Manhattan. With the help of volunteers from the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation, and fellow Junior Council members, the team removed more than a dozen bags of trash from the river’s edge.

John is a pro at tackling shoreline cleanups, having led projects as part of the annual Riverkeeper Sweep for three consecutive years and from his past experience participating in cleanups on the Potomac River.

Volunteers from the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation participated as part of their Week of Giving. Employees of IICF companies across the world participate in 8 consecutive days of service projects with organizations they support, including Riverkeeper. Last year, in the Northeast Division alone, over 2,200 volunteers participated in 150 service projects with over 80 non-profits.
