Defend the Hudson for future generations: leave a gift in your will

Restore the Hudson now and into the future by leaving a gift in your will to Riverkeeper. Request your free brochure and find out below about the difference a gift in your will can make. Ready to start planning your legacy today for free? Visit www.givingdocs.com/riverkeeper-ny for complimentary estate planning tools.

In your will, you have the opportunity to defend and restore the mighty Hudson River and its tributaries, and safeguard drinking water for millions of New Yorkers.

By making a gift to Riverkeeper in your estate plans, after providing for family and loved ones, you can play a vital part in defending the Hudson from pollution and restoring habitat for fish and other creatures that call our waterways home.

If you love the Hudson and wish to protect it beyond your lifetime, please join the Storm King Society by remembering Riverkeeper in your will. Riverkeeper is pleased to sponsor estate planning services provided by Giving Docs, a third-party estate planning platform, at www.givingdocs.com/riverkeeper-ny.

Like many other Riverkeeper members who have chosen to make this special gift, you’ll be helping to ensure that future generations will enjoy a free flowing, resilient Hudson River that is recovered from historic harms, safe for recreation, and ecologically abundant.

Riverkeeper member Dave Sides recently made the decision to add Riverkeeper and other charities to his will. He explained his thinking: “first and foremost, my kids are in the will, and then grandkids, and then whatever’s left – they call it the residual – will be donated to my passions, including Riverkeeper.”

He sees remembering charities in his will as a way to ensure that causes about which he’s passionate continue into the future. “Right now, I support Riverkeeper by doing, by giving money when I can but mostly giving my time. It makes me feel very good knowing that I can help ensure that Riverkeeper’s programs like the water quality sampling program and boat patrol can continue after I’m gone by including them in my will.”

If you’re thinking about leaving a gift to the Riverkeeper, our team is here to help. We always recommend seeing a lawyer if you’re thinking of writing or amending your will but we can help with questions you might have.
