Hundreds of samples, thousands of measurements, one water quality monitoring season
November 7, 2025
Each recreational season — from May to October — we collect thousands of water samples at hundreds of locations throughout the Hudson River watershed, using Riverkeeper’s sampling boat, the Bob Boyle, and with the help of partners and community scientists. This season we collected over 1,800 water samples and tested for more than 10,000 water quality measurements, helping make informed decisions for the river and ourselves.
This year we also celebrated the completion of the 10th season of sampling the Upper Hudson — over 150 river miles north of Troy, New York. Thank you to all the partners, community scientists, and supporters who make this critical work possible!
