Make your voice heard in the redevelopment of the Brooklyn Marine Terminal

In September, the plan to redevelop the current Brooklyn Marine Terminal took a step forward. This plan, developed by New York City’s Economic Development Corporation, would modernize the current port in Sunset Park — building 6,000 housing units, light-industrial and commercial spaces, public open spaces, infrastructure improvements, and waterfront access and resilience measures.
Riverkeeper and our partners in Red Hook are concerned about the scale of the project’s proposed in-water construction — including plans to rebuild and expand piers over several acres of open water — and the potential harm to aquatic habitat, water quality, and shoreline resiliency.
The public is encouraged to provide input on the plan. Join us at an in-person meeting on Monday, December 1 at 6:00 pm at Sacred Hearts - St. Stephen Church (125 Summit Street, Brooklyn, NY 11231).
