Mermaids highlight progress for the Hudson

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Sleepy Mermaid Festival at Kingsland Point Park along the Hudson River! The day was packed with creativity, community spirit, and a shared love for the river. The beach was open and festival-goers enjoyed paddleboarding, kayaking, and splashing in the Hudson River — a reminder of the value of clean, swimmable waters.
Video loading...The festival also spotlighted a serious issue: sewage pollution in our river. Riverkeeper is working hard to reduce sewage overflows and expand safe public swimming access. But knowing when and where it's safe to swim is key.
