Protecting our neighborhoods and water from flooding and storms
March 27, 2026
New Yorkers have already begun experiencing more frequent and intense heavy rain events due to climate change. Rain overwhelms sewer systems, resulting in extreme flooding and sewage overflows that contaminate water bodies with untreated waste.
That’s why we’re pushing for the passage of Rain Ready NY, important legislation that would improve stormwater management and help communities prepare for the increasing frequency and intensity of rainfall due to climate change.
