Riverkeeper secures state funding to accelerate dam removal projects
May 30, 2025
Removing outdated and obsolete dams is a vital part of our mission to restore free-flowing waterways, improve water quality, and reconnect critical habitat. These projects will help breathe life back into Hudson River tributaries, making them healthier, more resilient ecosystems.
These projects have been funded in part by grants from the New York State Environmental Protection Fund through the Hudson River Estuary Program of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
