Riverkeeper President Paul Gallay issues this statement following today’s State of the State address by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo:

“It’s great to see investment in clean water and other bedrock environmental programs on the upswing again. We appreciate Governor Cuomo’s clear understanding, reflected in his proposed 2016-2017 budget, that New York must lead on water and land protection, renewable energy and habitat restoration. This sort of investment, and more of it, is the only way way that our public drinking water stays safe, our waterways become better places to swim, boat and fish, and our energy demands get met sustainably.”
